Meditation for Beginners with Kate

This online workshop addresses the most common questions, misunderstandings and confusing bits about meditation. It covers the essential how’s and why’s of creating a stable practice. The course will be run over 3 weeks, online as a group. Included are:

  • 12 pre-recorded videos
  • 4 live Q&A’s and live guided meditations
  • a course manual
  • and plentiful support from Kate.

We’ll explore many different aspects and approaches to and also queries about meditation. Such as

  • How do I quiet my mind and what do I do with my thoughts?
  • What is the point? What is meditation for? How is it different to just sitting and thinking?
  • I know it is good for me, but how do I make myself do it? How do I meditate consistently?
  • What technique am I supposed to be using? What is the right way to do it?
  • Am I supposed to be using guidance or do it on my own? And, how do I do it on my own?

In addition, the course addresses the struggles that Kate personally experienced as a beginner, and the mountains of wisdom and understanding that she has gathered along the way.

Kate is an Insight Meditation Teacher, Spiritual Mentor, Transformational Retreat Facilitator, Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist and a lifelong student of the Yoga and Buddha Dhamma. She has been a practitioner of Buddhist meditation for 13 years, and has sat (and facilitated) over 20 silent meditation retreats in the insight (Vipassana) tradition of up to 30 days in length. Kate is currently in a 4-6 year program to become a Senior Insight Meditation Teacher of Australia.

Online Yoga Library available!

After adding in Live Streaming classes 7 months back (was it really that long ago?!), we got to thinking about how we can best serve the yogafusion community with more offerings.

We’re now ready unveil our latest – an Online Library available 24/7 for yoga whenever you’d like! Currently we have several of the recordings of our Live Streams available; this is just the start though.

Soon we’re going to be recording classes specifically for the Library, to provide a variety of class styles, lengths and focuses. This will mean the video and audio is of MUCH higher quality (yay!). And also that the library should have a lot of options to choose from, so you can pick what is best for you that day (double yay!).

We’re also looking into putting together some class series, so that each class builds upon the last but you can practice at your own pace.

Currently this is available to anyone on any of our Dedicated/Flexi Yogi memberships, or who currently have an Unlimited Pass (1, 3 or 12 months). We’ll be looking to expand this very soon, to make it as easily accessible as we can.

We’re back (again!)

After a short break, due to the Covid lockdowns, we’re open again and with our regularly scheduled classes.

Classes will be slightly restricted in size in order to give everyone a safe space to practice in, but they’re open to one and all.

Karen - Flow, Roll and Release

Flow, Roll & Release classes

Starting this Wednesday at 7:15pm we’re introducing Flow, Roll and Release Yoga classes!

Join Karen for these classes, themed around Chinese meridians, in which we will explore facial trains to both energise and release tension in the body.

This practice will be a blend  of Yin & Yang  with:
 
  • Myo Fascia Release 
  • Flow to feel into body
  • Roll to find the sweet spots of tension
  • Release to unravel tension stored in the tissues
  • Yin/ Yang cultivate equilibrium within in the body, mind and spirit

Bigger classes (without live streaming … for the moment)

With class sizes increasing this week (hooray!) we are faced with another challenge (boo!) – how to live stream while maintaining privacy for those in the studio 🙏🏻

As the class orientation will need to change we have the mirrors to deal with which means a little ’tweaking’ (NOT twerking) from us 😜

You can now attend 1 class per day in the studio – no more limits to 3/week – so please feel free to book in to studio classes instead 🙌🏻

If you do not wish to attend in studio classes this week, the other options are for pre recorded classes to be sent, or alternatively a week pause/extension of your membership.

Please let us know your preferred option and we will arrange asap.

Online Yoga Classes at yogafusion

Live streaming & recorded classes

We are so grateful for the continued support we have received with the transition to online classes.

We are still offering multiple classes a day and a variety of styles. If you haven’t tried it out yet, please join us!

Registering for online classes

  • You can register for classes in the yogafusion app, or from the class schedule on our website.
  • It’s best to sign up at least 30 minutes before class starts so you have time to receive the link and log in – but if you leave it until the last minute you’ll still be able to join – just make sure you’re ready to go!
  • Online classes and recordings are available wherever you are – anywhere in the world!

Preparing for your virtual class

  • All you need is enough room to roll out your mat and a good internet connection.
  • You can join on your phone, laptop or computer (if you’re really tech savvy – or are at home with someone who is – link the class to your tv!)
  • Log in a few minutes early to test your audio and video, so you’re ready to go when class starts.

Viewing video classes

  • We will e-mail you a link to the class at least 20 minutes before it starts; they are sent out every few minutes, right up until the class starts.
  • If you do not receive the link 10-15 minutes before class, please reach out and we can re-send the link.
  • If the class times don’t suit, register anyway as you will be emailed a link to the recording of the class, available for 24 hours.

Sliding scale pricing available

  • We know this is an incredibly stressful time for many in our community and we want you to know we are here to assist you by keeping connected to the benefits of yoga practice, and each other.
  • We have introduced a sliding scale pricing option to pay what you can afford – starting from as little as $5/class.


Yoga can be a transformative tool for physical, mental and emotional health and well-being – never has there been a more crucial time to keep a regular practice.
